Dr Olayinka David-West is a senior fellow in the Operations, Information Systems and Marketing unit of Lagos Business School (LBS). She is an astute information systems (IS) professional with over two decades experience and a passion for the effective use of IT in business and society. Her teaching, research and consulting engagements focus on making IT understandable and assisting organisations derive business value from information and digital technology investments through systematic decision making and managerial processes. Dr. David-West is the co-instructor of DIGITAL AFRICA, an online micro course focused on platform strategy, management and innovation and academic director at LBS and sister institution, Enterprise Development Centre (EDC).
Dr David-West holds a doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Manchester Business School; MSc in Business Systems Analysis and Design from City University, London; and BSc in Computer Science from the University of Lagos. Dr David-West is the author of numerous academic papers, industry and research reports and teaching materials that have either been published or presented at local and international conferences. She is currently leading a funded project to identify sustainable business models for delivering digital financial services (DFS) to unbanked Nigerians. Dr David-West is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), an academic advocate to the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and a qualified practitioner of the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA).
